A cottage in a village in Nottinghamshire has been sealed off after a man's body was discovered inside.

Police said it was called to an address in Lambley Lane, Burton Joyce, at 19:24 BST on Wednesday.

Officers confirmed they were treating the death as unexplained, but emphasised it was an isolated incident and there was no risk to the wider public.

Police said investigations were ongoing to understand what had happened. No further details have been released.

Det Insp Clare Gibson said: "We are working to understand the circumstances of this man's death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

"We believe this to have been an isolated incident that poses no risk to the wider community.

"The man's family has now been informed and our thoughts are with them at this sad time."
