Woman found dead named as police question suspect
Staffordshire PoliceA woman found dead in Stoke-on-Trent has been named by police, as detectives were granted more time to question a man arrested on suspicion of her murder.
The body of Sarah-Louise Pennington was discovered at an address at Oakwell Court, in Longton, after officers were called there at about 03:30 BST on Sunday.
Staffordshire Police said the 24-year-old was from the city and her family were being supported by specialist officers.
A 30-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, would continue to be questioned, the force added.
Det Insp Kirsty Oldfield from the force's major investigations department, said officers were working incredibly hard to progress lines of inquiry.
"I'd like to reassure the community that we are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with this investigation and our enquiries are moving at pace," she said.
"Officers will be out carrying out house-to-house enquiries and providing visible reassurance in the area."

Oldfield also thanked everyone who had supported the investigation and asked anyone else who had information to get in touch.
Staffordshire Police has particularly appealed for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage to make contact.
