Major crop blaze tackled by dozens of firefighters

More than 40 firefighters are tackling a major crop blaze in a Staffordshire field.

Crews were called to the field in Womborne just before 13:00 BST, following reports of the large fire.

Eight fire engines are at the scene, off Bridgnorth Road, Shipley, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

People have been advised to avoid the area where possible and nearby residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
