Two taken to hospital after hit-and-run near Castle Douglas

Two people have been taken to hospital after a hit-and-run on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway.

The crash - which involved a black BMW and black Volkswagen Golf - happened near Castle Douglas at about 13:40 on Friday.

The occupants of the BMW were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Hospital and have since been discharged. Police said the driver of the Volkswagen Golf failed to stop.

PC Callum Kingstree said: "Inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us."
