A murder suspect from Glasgow is among the UK's 12 most wanted fugitives with links to Spain.

Derek McGraw Ferguson, 62, is thought to have fled Scotland after a man was shot dead outside a pub in June 2007.

Thomas Cameron, who was 49, died in the car park of the Auchinairn Tavern in Bishopbriggs.

British ex-pats living in Spain and holidaymakers visiting the country are being urged to look at the National Crime Agency's (NCA) most wanted list.

Ferguson is described as a white male, who is 5ft 3in (160cm) tall and of stocky build.

He is believed to be living under an alias and has featured in previous campaigns, according to the NCA.

The offenders on the list, all men, are wanted for crimes including murder, drugs offences and money laundering.

They are believed to be hiding in or have links to Spain.

The campaign marks the 20th anniversary of Operation Captura, a joint initiative led by the NCA, Spanish law enforcement and Crimestoppers.

Since its launch, there have been 11 public appeals and 98 fugitives out of 111 have been located and returned to the UK to be prosecuted.

Rob Jones, the NCA's director general operations, said: "Fugitives rarely stop offending while on the run.

"They continue to harm communities in both Spain and the UK, and attempt to stay under the radar by blending into large British ex-pat populations.

"These are not people you want in your neighbourhood."

Founder of Crimestoppers UK, Lord Ashcroft, said: "With Crimestoppers, our anonymity guarantee means you can pass on information about dangerous fugitives without any fear of retribution.

"This new campaign is a powerful reminder that communities in both the UK and Spain are safer when people speak up."
