Road closures planned for hospital upgrades
Sam Read/BBCMotorists have been warned of possible disruption for almost two weeks as infrastructure improvements continue near Kettering General Hospital.
Lower Street and Northfield Avenue in Kettering will see temporary traffic management measures in place from 2-10 May for works linked to the hospital.
The project will install new underground electrical cables to support future hospital improvements, including better maternity services.
A spokesperson for contractor HVSS said they "appreciate the public's patience" as works continue.
From 2 May to 5 May, the left-hand filter lane from Northall Street onto Lower Street will be closed.
During this period, traffic will be diverted via temporary signals through the crossroads, providing access towards the Morrisons store entrance.
Then from 5 May, through to 10 May, the traffic management will transition to four-way temporary traffic signals at the junction.
Between 2 May and 4 May, traffic management will also be in place at the roundabout junction at Northfield Avenue and on the section of Rothwell Road that runs under the railway bridge.
The junction to Lower Street will be fully closed to traffic 24 hours a day for the duration of the works.
"This is a vital scheme that will deliver important infrastructure improvements, supporting the future of healthcare services in Kettering and bringing long-term benefits to the community." HVSS's spokesperson added
Drivers are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys.
