Strikes by workers at Stansted Airport called off
Getty ImagesStrikes by workers who help disabled passengers at London Stansted Airport have been called off.
More than 100 people from facilities firm ABM were due to walk out from Saturday until Monday in a dispute over pay.
The union, Unite, had said the requested pay rise would have cost ABM the equivalent of "one extra tin of beans" per week.
Regional officer Steve Edwards said the strike action had been suspended so members could consider a new offer that was on the table.
ABM previously said it wanted to find a "fair" resolution to the dispute.
Unite said the pay rise that members rejected was worth an extra 1p per hour for the first year, rising to 2p or 3p in the following 12 months.
