Second body found after building fire
Mark Graham/BBCA second body has been discovered following a building fire in a market town, police said.
The body was found earlier in the rubble of a property on the corner of Warwick Road and Mount Street in Batley after a large blaze in the early hours of 15 August.
West Yorkshire Police recovered a different body on Wednesday and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the force said.
A police spokesperson said: "I can confirm additional human remains have been found at the location today and work remains ongoing to identify the person sadly found deceased at the scene on Wednesday."
Mark Graham/BBCThey added: "We will of course be conducting all possible enquires to also identify the second person we have found."
The force has also asked anyone who may have seen anything unusual or has any CCTV or dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
Det Insp Tom Hilyer of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team added: "This has been and remains a complex investigation and I want to reassure residents that all necessary resources are being utilised to determine the full circumstances of what occurred."
