Two arrested after man stabbed to death

Police said the young man died in hospital shortly after the stabbing in Humberstone Road

Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 20s died in hospital following a stabbing.

Police were called to Humberstone Road in Luton at about 18:00 BST on Sunday to reports of an altercation involving three people.

A boy and a girl, both aged 17, were taken into custody for questioning after the victim died in hospital.

Det Insp Adam Bridges said: "We are working hard to establish the events that led to this altercation and the loss of a young man's life."

Detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit made an arrest before executing a warrant at an address in Luton, leading to the second arrest.

Det Insp Bridges appealed for anyone who has information to come forward.

Police said the dead man's family was being supported by specialist officers, but they have not released details about the his identity yet.
