Two bus services to some of East Yorkshire's beauty spots are returning for the spring and summer.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has confirmed the Wolds Explorer and Spurn Explorer routes will run for a third year until the autumn.

The services, operated by East Yorkshire Buses, run on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays and cost £3 for a single fare.

Councillor Nick Coultish said: "These bus services give residents and visitors a wonderful chance to travel with ease and explore some of the most attractive places in the East Riding."

The bus routes take passengers into the heart of the Wolds countryside and to Spurn Point Nature Reserve on the Holderness coast.

The Wolds Explorer travels between Pocklington and Thixendale, serving the villages of Millington, Huggate and Fridaythorpe.

It will run three services on Saturdays and two on Sundays in each direction until 26 September.

The Spurn Explorer, which runs until 1 November, will travel to Spurn Point between Hull, Patrington and the Spurn Discovery Centre at Kilnsea on Saturdays.

On Sundays, it will run from Withernsea to the Spurn Discovery Centre with four services in each direction.

Both routes have been funded by the council using government money from the Department for Transport for bus service improvement.
