Man arrested after motorcyclist dies in A245 crash
GoogleA motorcyclist has died and a van driver has been arrested following a crash on the A245 in Byfleet, police have said.
Surrey Police was called to the A245 Byfleet Road at about 07:15 BST on Thursday, where a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 44-year-old man driving the van was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, police said.
The force said the road remained closed both ways from the roundabout connecting it with Parvis Road and Brooklands Road, to the Seven Hills Road junction.
Police investigating have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or helmetcam footage to come forward.
Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.
Police said the man's next of kin had been informed.
Drivers have been told to avoid the area and follow any diversions that are in place.
