Woman dies in motorcycle crash with car

A motorcyclist in her 20s has died in a crash with a car, police have said.

Emergency services were called to Brockley Combe Road, near Backwell in north Somerset, at 17:50 BST on Wednesday.

Police said the motorcyclist was riding towards Bristol Airport when a collision occurred with a grey Ford Puma heading in the opposite direction.

The woman sustained critical injuries and died at the scene, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed.

The car driver remained at the scene and has been helping officers with their investigation.

Police have urged anyone with relevant information to get in touch.
