About 200 new homes have been proposed for North Kessock in the Black Isle.

Tulloch Homes has also proposed landscaping and open spaces as part of the development in the village of about 1,300 people.

The housebuilder said its project was a "direct response to the Highland's housing challenge".

Two years ago, Highland Council said the region needs an extra 24,000 houses over the next 10 years to address a long-standing shortage of affordable homes.

Tulloch Homes managing director Kieran Graham said the firm had a "strong track record of delivering developments that respect and benefit the communities in which we have built".

He said the development at Bellfield Farm would include affordable and private housing.

"We look forward to working closely with local residents, and those looking to move to the area, throughout this process, and welcome their views to help shape our proposals," he added.
