Hundreds of homes without water due to burst main

About 900 homes, a school and some businesses in a market town have no water or low pressure due to a burst main.

Wessex Water said the problem was reported in Tellcroft Close in Corsham, Wiltshire earlier and it was carrying out emergency repairs to fix it as soon as possible.

The water company apologised to affected customers and added it was unable to provide an exact time frame on how long the outage will last.

St Patrick's Primary School is closed and said it suspected it will reopen be until Monday.

A spokesperson for Wessex Water said: "We apologise to customers in the Tellcroft Close area of Corsham who may be without water or experiencing low pressure, caused by a burst main that was reported to us early this morning

"We're working to fix this as quickly as possible."
