The pedestrian was struck on Coulson's Road in Whitchurch

A pedestrian has been hospitalised after being struck by a car which failed to stop, police say.

The collision happened on Coulson's Road, Whitchurch, at about 21:55 GMT on Saturday.

Avon and Somerset Police said the car's driver failed to stop at the scene and CCTV inquiries were under way.

Officers said they believed the car was being driven in the direction of Court Farm Road from East Dundry Road.
