Police are appealing to identify this young male after an officer was assaulted

Police are appealing for information after an officer was assaulted by an e-bike rider at a McDonalds in Long Eaton.

The officer had gone to the fast food venue in Waverley Street to investigate a group of "nuisance antisocial e-bikes and mopeds" on Wednesday at about 20:15, Derbyshire Police said.

While a young male on an e-bike was being detained, he assaulted the officer before fleeing, leaving behind the bike, his mobile phone and one of his trainers.

Anyone with information about the incident or who recognises the bike or male, is asked to contact the police.
