Two arrested as man seriously injured in fight

Two men have been arrested after a man was seriously injured during a fight in a Coventry street.

West Midlands Police were called to the junction of Wheelwright Lane and Briscoe Road shortly after 02:00 BST on Monday.

A man was taken to hospital with a life-threatening head injury where he remained in a critical condition, the force said.

A 46-year-old man and a 29-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remain in police custody as inquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to get in contact or to report anonymously to Crimestoppers.
