Roundabout partly blocked by fallen hay bales

Police said the bales fell at the Southgate Green roundabout at the junction with Cullum Road, Rougham Road and Sicklesmere Road

A roundabout was partly blocked when a number of hay bales fell from a lorry.

Police were called to the Southgate Green roundabout in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, after the incident that happened at about 12:30 BST.

A spokesperson for the force said at 14:30 officers were still at the scene assisting with traffic and the recovery of the bales.

Police cars could be seen at the roundabout attempting to move the bales with tow ropes.
