Two-hour delay following motorway incident
National HighwaysMotorists travelling on the M5 in Somerset are being warned of long delays following a police-led incident.
The motorway was closed in both directions between junction 23 for Dunball and junction 24 for Bridgwater, but the road has since re-opened.
Avon and Somerset Police have "thanked the public for their patience and understanding".
In a statement on X, National Highways said there were delays of up to two hours on the approach and 12 miles of congestion. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and allow extra time to travel.
