Cold weather payments extended to 105 more homes
BBCEligibility for cold weather payments for households receiving income support has been expanded to an additional 105 homes in Jersey.
The government approved an amendment to the current support scheme, which helps people financially with heating their homes during the colder months.
It said it would cost up to £21,000 to include the additional homes.
The current payments are available to those with a child under three years old, over 65s, people receiving level three personal care support, receiving child personal care at level three or receiving 100% long-term incapacity allowance.
The scheme now also includes households with someone receiving the flexible personal care element of the impairment component and with someone entitled to personal care as they are not expected to live more than 12 months or receive benefits under the Long-Term Care (Jersey) Law 2012 while not living in an approved care home.
The Minister for Social Security Senator Elaine Millar said the amendment would "ensure the regulations are aligned with current and ongoing administration of income support claims".
