Mum who died in bus stop crash named

A mum who died after a car crashed into a bus stop has "left a remarkable stamp on this world", her family has said.

Danielle Sharpe, 34, died at the scene on Fotheringhay Road, Corby, at about 07:30 BST last Friday.

Northamptonshire Police previously said a black Vauxhall Insignia had "appeared to be turning left into Fotheringhay Road when it left its intended path". A second pedestrian, a teenage boy, suffered minor injuries.

A 55-year-old man from Corby, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs, has been released on police bail.

In a tribute, Sharpe's family said: "Danielle was such a beautiful and loving mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunty and was loved by so many. We are just beyond heartbroken and cannot believe that she has gone.

"In her short life she left a remarkable stamp on this world, and we cannot put into words just how much we are going to miss her."

The family asked people not to speculate on social media about what happened.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to get in touch.
