A teenage man has been charged over the death of a man after a disturbance in Glasgow city centre.

Daniel Colrain, 21, was found with serious injuries in Royal Exchange Square at about 03:05 on Sunday. He was taken to hospital where he died on Monday.

Police Scotland said a 19-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court later.

Det Insp Jonny MacKinnon thanked the public for their assistance and the force said inquires into the incident remain ongoing.

A second 19-year-old man was previously arrested in connection with the disturbance and released pending further investigation.

Another man, aged 21, was also assaulted and suffered minor injuries.

A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with this and is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.
