The council says work to the bridges is nearing completion

Work to bridges on a main road into Grimsby and Cleethorpes will take place overnight from Monday.

North East Lincolnshire Council said vital structural repairs to bridges on the A180 were nearing completion, with final lining works due overnight on Alexandra Dock bridge and Westgate roundabout.

Alexandra Dock bridge will be closed overnight from Monday 19 until Saturday 24 October from 20:00 until 05:00 BST.

Gilbey Bridge will be closed on Monday and Tuesday from 20:00 until 05:00 for CCTV drain inspection work.

Diversions will be around Grimsby town centre for the Alexandra Dock section, and via Moody Lane for the Gilbey bridge section.

The authority said the final set of overnight closures on Alexandra Dock bridge will be Monday 26, Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October from 20:00 until 05:00.
