Four people have been seriously injured in a crash involving a motorbike and a car in North Yorkshire.

Emergency services were called to the junction of the A167 and the B1263, between Northallerton and Darlington, at about 18:30 BST on Thursday after a collision between a Honda CB500 motorcycle and a grey VW Polo car.

The motorcyclist and their passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and remained in hospital, North Yorkshire Police said on Monday. The car driver and passenger were also seriously hurt, with one still in hospital.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage has been asked to contact police.

Officers said the motorcycle was travelling northwest on the A167 Northallerton Road and the car was turning right on to the A167 from the B1263 at the time of the collision.
