Michael Tyrrell, of Mosborough, was jailed for two offences in which three men were left with serious injuries

A man who left two people seriously injured in a road traffic collision and assaulted another man in a separate altercation has been jailed.

Sheffield Crown Court heard Michael Tyrrell, 55, crashed his BMW X5 into another vehicle 3 October 2024 before fleeing the scene on foot.

He was arrested the following month and charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He was arrested again in April 2025 after assaulting a man outside the Sherwood pub, in the Birley area of Sheffield.

Tyrrell, of Moss House Court in Mosborough, was jailed for 15 years on Friday after being found guilty of the offences by a jury.

PC Tayla Russell said Tyrrell's actions were "reckless in the extreme".

"He has shown no regard for others through his offending," she said.

"It is clear he is a dangerous man and prison is currently the best place for him."

"I hope this lengthy sentence offers his victims some closure."
