Human bones found in park under investigation
Hounslow CouncilAn investigation is under way after human bones were found at a west London park, the Metropolitan Police said.
The remains were discovered after emergency services were called to Bedfont Lakes Country Park in Hounslow at about 18:35 BST on Wednesday, 12 August.
Police said the bones had been confirmed as human, and that inquiries were ongoing to establish the age and identity of the remains.
A police cordon is still in place close to the footbridge leading to Edward Pauling School, according to local residents. They said recent wildfires in the area may have unearthed bones that were previously covered.
A Met spokesperson said: "Further testing is under way to establish the age of the bones and ascertain identity.
"An investigation is ongoing, and a crime scene remains in place."
