Attempted murder arrest after two people stabbed
Getty ImagesA teenager has been arrested on suspicion of attemped murder after a man and a woman were stabbed with a knife.
West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to a flat in Kilpin Court, Heckmondwike, near Dewsbury, at about 22:20 GMT on Saturday following reports two people had been attacked with a knife by a man.
The man and woman were treated at the scene for facial and neck injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, before they were taken to hospital.
A 19-year-old man remains in custody and the attack "appears to be a domestic incident", the force has said.
Det Insp Sarah Bradley, of Kirklees' adult safeguarding unit at West Yorkshire Police, said: "Our officers are investigating this incident in order to establish exactly what has taken place and, while we carry out our enquiries, there will be a scene at the address."
She added there was "no wider threat to the public" and the force was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
