Lancashire Police said the cyclist was from Chorley

A cyclist has died after being struck by a car at a pedestrian crossing.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was hit by a Citroen C4 shortly before 12:00 BST on Union Street, Chorley, on Monday, Lancashire Police said.

The force said the man from Chorley, who was riding a purple and silver mountain bike, died at the scene.

Det Sgt Stuart Hart appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile footage, to get in touch.
