Red Arrows to take to skies for Tour of Britain
PA MediaThe Red Arrows will stage a flypast as part of the 2026 Men's Tour of Britain cycle race.
The RAF aerobatic team will soar over riders at the start of stage two of the race in Boston, Lincolnshire on Thursday, while a Spitfire will fly over Skegness when the competitors reach the finish line later that day.
Dale Broughton, leader of Boston Borough Council, said: "These flypasts will provide a powerful tribute from the skies in honour of an international class of cyclists."
Craig Leyland, leader of East Lindsey District Council, added: "The sight of these legendary aircraft flying above and the spectacle of dozens of riders racing on two wheels below will be an awe-inspiring sight."
Boston is set to host a day-long festival of cycling and family entertainment on Thursday from 09:00 to 16:00 BST, with live race coverage shown on a big screen in the Market Place.
In Skegness, events will run from 11:00 to 19:30, with circus acts, street parties and cycling-themed stalls.
