A man and a woman have been charged after six people were found in the back of a lorry in Goole, police have said.

Humberside Police said 27-year-old Florin Anghel, who identifies as Italian, and 24-year-old Tita Istrate, who identifies as Romanian, have been charged with doing an act to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK immigrational law by a non-UK national.

The force said it attended a vehicle on Anderson Road at about 18:00 GMT on Tuesday. Six people have also been detained under the immigration act.

The pair appeared at Hull Magistrates' Court earlier and have been remanded in custody until a hearing at Hull Crown Court on 17 September.
