The A38 has closed in both directions after a serious collision.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called shortly before 10:00 BST on Thursday to reports of a crash between two cars and a motorcycle on the A38 near Lee Mill, Devon.

Police said the motorcyclist had suffered serious injuries.

It added road closures were in place covering both the carriageway and slip roads and National Highways said an air ambulance was en route.

Police asked drivers to avoid the area

Police said the incident was ongoing and drivers were asked to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: "We sent one double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, an operations officer and a specialist paramedic to the scene."
