A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and arson after a fire at a rugby club.

An 11-year-old boy suffered serious injuries during the incident at Trimsaran rugby club in Carmarthenshire on Saturday and is currently in a stable condition at Morriston Hospital.

Dyfed Powys-Police said officers received reports of a fire at around 18:15 BST.

The force said: "A container was allegedly set alight deliberately causing extensive damage to the container and its contents."

In a post on Facebook, the club said: "The [11-year-old] boy was trapped inside and only got out due to the heroism of some of our club members."

Dyfed Powys Police said the 13-year-old had been released on conditional bail while its investigation was continuing.
