Pedestrian critically ill after being struck by car

A man is critically ill after being struck by a car in Edinburgh.

Police said the 49-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after the collision on Chesser Avenue at 00:21 on Saturday.

A 35-year-old woman who was driving a blue MG HS involved in the crash was uninjured.

Officers said inquiries were ongoing and asked anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident to contact officers.
