Two in court over grandmother's bike crash death
SuppliedTwo men have appeared in court accused of causing the death by dangerous driving of a great-grandmother who was struck by a motorcycle.
Gillian Livingstone, 75, died and her grandchild suffered a serious head injury when they were hit while crossing Ennerdale Road in Cleator Moor on 26 May.
Shaun Rafferty, 22, from Seaton, and Stefan Young, 24, of Moresby Parks, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court where the judge heard allegations people were "racing" when the crash happened.
The pair were bailed and are expected to stand trial on 19 July next year alongside Kieran Yorke, 22, from Workington, who previous pleaded not guilty to causing the grandmother's death.
Rafferty and Young have yet to enter pleas, but lawyers representing them indicated both would be pleading not guilty.
