An 80-year-old woman has finished her 14th London Marathon - her 31st marathon overall.

Sue Nicholls, from Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, ran the marathon on Sunday to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

She said she enjoyed the run and did a better time than last year - five hours and 59 minutes - adding she's "improving with age".

"My husband Cliff died of cancer 18 years ago so I decided I need to do something positive, raise some money. I got addicted to running," Nicholls said.

She added: "I want to live as long as I can and keep fit. Cliff would have said I'm mad!"

Nicholls trains with the running club Burnham-on-Sea Harriers.

Club member Todd Johnson said: "She's one amazing lady whom we as a running club all adore and cherish beyond words.

"We refer to her as our super Sue."

Nicholls said her next challenge would be running the Bristol Half Marathon.
