Manchester Piccadilly trains delayed after fault
EPATrains running to and from Manchester Piccadilly have been subject to delays and cancellations due to an electrical fault.
Some connections have been delayed by up to an hour following a fault with the overhead wires, National Rail said.
Major disruption is expected until the end of Thursday and will affect services from Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales.
Network Rail spokesperson said it was "responding" to the issue.
"At present, most trains in and out of Piccadilly will be delayed or cancelled," it said.
"Our teams are on site working to resolve the issue. Disruption is expected to continue until the end of the day.
"Ticket acceptance is in place on rail and some Bee Network services.
"We are sorry to passengers for the disruption this has caused, and we are working to get people moving as soon as possible."
