Ross Le Brun wins first island-wide by-election

Ross Le Brun has won Guernsey's first island-wide by-election after securing 953 votes.

Of the 27,520 people registered to vote just 17.32% did so, making it the lowest turnout at an election since at least the turn of the millennium.

Le Brun was elected ahead of 10 other candidates for the one vacant seat in the States of Guernsey.

There were 4,643 votes cast with 110 spoilt and six blank ballots.

The votes cast were:

  • Julie-Anne Headington (Forward Guernsey) - 634
  • Tamara Menteshvili - 440
  • Sam Haskins - 407
  • Andy Taylor - 388
  • Nikki Symons - 371
  • Stephen Rouxel - 230
  • Jonathan Wilson - 162
  • Luke Graham - 88
  • Rob Harnish - 79
