Man charged over alleged assault in Edinburgh flats

A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault that left another man requiring hospital treatment following an incident in Edinburgh.

Emergency crews were called to a block of flats in Muirhouse Gardens at about 12:45 on Friday.

A 54-year-old man was discovered with "serious injuries" within a common close. He was taken away for treatment.

Police Scotland said a 30-year-old man had been arrested and charged over the incident. He is scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
