Paul CopeRush hour commuters faced major delays after a lorry overturned on a busy route through Staffordshire.
Emergency services were called to the A50, at the A500 island at Sideway in Stoke-on-Trent, at 07:20 BST following reports of a lorry on its side, prompting the full closure of the eastbound carriageway and the B5490.
It caused 20-minute delays and up to two miles of congestion at times, National Highways said. The route reopened at about 12:00.
The lorry driver was taken to hospital by ambulance and their injuries were not thought to be serious, Staffordshire Police confirmed.
