Five dogs found dead after Fife house fire
Fife Jammer LocationsFive dogs have died in a house fire in Fife.
Fire crews were alerted to the blaze on Castle Terrace in Kennoway at about 14:20 on Monday.
They sent three engines to the scene and there were no reported casualties but a number of dogs and exotic animals were found in the house.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control and left at about 16:30. The surviving animals are receiving veterinary treatment.
The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene but has since reopened.
Investigations into the fire remain ongoing.
A spokesperson for the SSPCA said: "Unfortunately, as it has been reported the dogs were deceased.
"The exotic animals were taken to an external vet for treatment, and they are not in our care."
Police Scotland have also been approached for comment.
