Passengers can now reach a bus station more easily after the completion of a project which also includes a new seating area and accessible toilets.

The link between Middle Street and the bus station at Glovers Walk in Yeovil has been reopened providing a clear accessible route.

Somerset Council purchased Glovers Walk in 2024 with £2.7m of government funding and plans to build new shops and affordable housing on the site by 2030.

Somerset councillor Mike Rigby said: "We will continue to work with Somerset Bus Partnership to make any improvements or changes to help passengers. At the moment though while the grass seed settles we would ask the public to keep to the hard surface areas of the site."

Glovers Walk will be used in the short-term as a green space, and has been seeded with grass which will need time to grow before it can be used. Benches have also been returned to the area for passengers.

The council said it was working with the local community to decide on uses for the site while work continues on a longer-term development plan.

Work will also continue on the Yeovil Reimagine project which will see the site host a programme of art commissions, celebrating Yeovil's cultural heritage.
