Dozens of firefighters tackle house fire
BBCFire crews remained at the scene of a house fire in Birmingham on Sunday after more than twenty firefighters spent Saturday night dealing with the blaze.
West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) said 10 fire engines had attended the scene at Drayton Road in Kings Heath on Saturday night.
In an update issued to the BBC, the service said that two fire engines were still in the area after they were initially called at 21:40 BST.
A WMFS spokesperson confirmed on Sunday morning that some nearby residents had been evacuated, but they were unable to confirm the cause of the fire or if anyone had been injured.
BBC Newsbeat journalist Peter Gillibrand, who witnessed the fire, said he had seen "embers flying up from the roof amid the smoke".
He said "dozens" of firefighters were at the scene, along with police and an ambulance, while nearby homes were evacuated.
Gillibrand added that Drayton Road had been closed in both directions.
People have been asked by the fire service to avoid the area where possible.
