Photographs and memories are being sought ahead of a borough's 90th anniversary celebrations in 2027.

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council has asked people to send in their stories to help mark nine decades since the local authority was created in 1937.

Contributions will "create a lasting record of the borough's social history", according to the authority.

The anniversary falls in the year the council is set to be dissolved and merged with neighbouring authorities to create the East Surrey Council.

Council leader Hannah Dalton said: "Every contribution will help tell the story of our area and preserve it for future generations.

"As we prepare for the transition to East Surrey Council, this is an opportunity to reflect on our shared history and create a lasting legacy that honours everything that makes Epsom & Ewell such a special place."

The council is proposing to share submissions on its social media pages and archive the contributions at Bourne Hall Museum in Ewell.

A programme of events "that will celebrate the borough's rich heritage, achievements and community spirit" is also planned, it said.
