A man in his 90s has been arrested after a pedestrian died in a collision with a car in Worcestershire.

The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, was walking near the junction of Hoo Road and Forester Way in Kidderminster when he was involved in the collision on Tuesday, according to West Mercia Police.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene at 10:09 BST and sent an ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance.

Ambulance crews found bystanders performing CPR on the man before taking over resuscitation efforts and giving him advanced life support, but he died at the scene.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was later released under investigation, a force spokesperson said.
