Pedestrian in 70s dies in collision with motorcycle

A woman who was walking near a supermarket has died after being struck by a motorbike.

It happened near a Morrisons on London Road, Hadleigh, at about 19:45 BST on Friday, Essex Police said.

The force said the woman died at the scene.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and investigative work was carried out. It reopened overnight.

Police have appealed to anyone with information or footage that could assist the investigation to get in touch.
