Eight teenagers have been arrested and a dispersal order has been put in place in Chatham and Rochester following anti-social behaviour in the two Medway towns.

Kent Police said the arrests followed a disturbance involving a large number of young people in Chatham High Street at about 16:25 BST on 8 October.

The dispersal order this weekend covers Chatham and Rochester town centres, including Fort Pitt Gardens, Jackson's Field and Victoria Gardens. It will be in place until 11:15 BST on Sunday.

Police said all eight teenagers had been released on bail.

The dispersal order gives police additional powers to move on anyone causing a nuisance and, if necessary, arrest those who return to the area.

Officers are still appealing for anyone who has information or footage of the disturbance to contact them.
