Social rent flats plan unanimously approved

A plan to build 21 flats for social rent in Wokingham town centre has been approved.

The three-storey apartment block will be built on vacant land at the junction of Wellington Road and Station Road, near the town's railway station.

Wokingham Borough Council said the site had been regarded as a potential housing location for years.

Residents objected to the proposed scale of the building but the council's planning committee unanimously approved the application on Wednesday.
