Two teenagers have been issued with dispersal orders after climbing on the roof of Nottingham Council House.

Nottinghamshire Police said the boys, 13 and 14, were detained for climbing on the building in Old Market Square on Wednesday.

In a social media video, Dan Butler, a neighbourhood policing sergeant, said the boys were "returned to parents and will undergo some community resolution and safeguarding measures".

The force said the boys were de-arrested after no criminal evidence was found and were given 48-hour dispersal notices.

It comes days after a major fire in the city which led to two boys, 12 and 14, being arrested.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said a lot of the roof trusses were "quite highly fire-damaged" in the fire at the Escobar building in Market Street on Monday.
