Firefighters are tackling a large blaze affecting about 90,000 sq m (97,000 sq ft) of grass and straw in a village in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to an area off Spring Lane in Elmton at 14:40 BST on Wednesday.

In an update on social media, the service said there were seven fire engines from across the county, and from Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire, as well as a command support unit and a water carrier.

Derbyshire Police confirmed Spring Lane was closed in both directions and the fire service urged the public to avoid the area.
