A man in his 80s has died following a car crash.

Wiltshire Police said the man, who was declared dead at the scene in Trowbridge, is believed to have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

Emergency services were called to Frome Road shortly after 09:00 BST to reports of a collision between a Volkswagen Polo and a Peugeot 208.

A passenger in the Polo, a woman in her 70s, suffered potentially serious injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Peugeot reportedly suffered minor injuries, and no arrests have been made.

The road was closed throughout the morning for investigation work and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered, but has since reopened.
